Meditation is a practical means for calming the self, for letting go of stress, and seeing clearly. It is a way of training the mind so that you are not distracted. Meditation helps lower blood pressure, improve cognitive function, alleviate depression and anxie- ty, and improve sleep. We sit for fifteen to twenty minutes with one stretch break and brief instruction for new meditators.
